BLEAH!!!

As part of the BoNo project, the Bolzano Dance Festival and We-Start/Novara Jazz invite dancer Annamaria Ajmone and musician Laura Agnusdei to present Bleah!!! Inspired by the visual, auditory and cinepoetic works of artist Lucia Marcucci, Ajmone and Agnusdei present their research into gesture and sound.

Lucia Marcucci’s imaginary acts as ice-breaker, triggering dialogue, initiating an encounter. It’s a point of departure that shapes a process of research, of work that then goes its own way. Bleah!!! is a word that creates volume in the space between the palate and the lip, it creates a sound with meaning. In Lucia Marcucci’s visual poem of the same name, this gesture-sound emerges from the pronunciation of the body and spreads onto the page, interrupting the anticipated perception of the ear becoming instead something to be spoken, to be seen, to be read. Bleah!!! returns to the bodies and their objects; it disarticulates the typical performative roles of dancer and musician, planning a script that disregards and redistributes the authorial functions.

The project Bleah!!! is realised on the occasion of and in response to the invitation by Festival Bolzano Danza and We-Start/Novara Jazz, in collaboration with Ar/Ge Kunst. The event includes a tour of the exhibition. Free admission.
